About the Universal Hearing Benefits Plan

What is the Universal Hearing Plan?

Universal Hearing Plan is a discount benefit program available to employees though their employers, local business associations or medical insurance companies. AHAA has established strong contractual relationships with several third party payers and hearing aid benefits plans. We are committed to serving managed care organizations and their constituencies and believe that AHAA's network of over 2,000 offices nationwide is uniquely suited to meet the needs of the managed care patient.

Who is AHAA?

The American Hearing Aid Associates (AHAA) is a national network of independent audiologists, hearing aid dispensers, universities and hospitals. AHAA represents the nation’s largest, highest quality and most accessible hearing health care network to both our members and their patients. AHAA was established in 1995 as a hearing health care organization to allow hearing professionals to remain dedicated to their patients’ best interests. Our membership includes over 2000 offices located throughout the United States and continues to grow daily. Unlike other organizations that have ownership of several of their members’ practices, there are no wholly-owned AHAA clinics. AHAA cannot exercise any leverage to force their members to dispense products from a controlling-interest manufacturer. In this way, the AHAA purchasing co-op includes over 30 hearing aid manufacturers and our members are free to dispense whichever manufacturer’s products they feel can best serve the needs of their patients without limitations or restrictions.

All AHAA members are licensed by their state to perform diagnostic and or dispensing services. Our requirements for membership are based on what we believe promises a high quality of hearing health care and rehabilitative services to all patients. Future enrollments are based on the recommendations of current AHAA associates who are highly regarded within the medical community.

Our Universal Hearing Plan includes

• 20% Discount off manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) or $200 off (MSRP) on each hearing aid device, (whichever is the greater discount )
• Quarterly cleanings and adjustments
• Yearly audiometric screenings
• Yearly hearing aid evaluations
• First-year loss and damage insurance
• First-year repair warranty (two years on some models)
• Repair and/or loss and damage replacement renewal options available
• Batteries provided for the life of the hearing aids (two packages per quarter)
• Call Center Management
• Tracking and Reporting Capabilities of members utilizing the AHAA discount program
