What is a hearing evaluation?

When you have your hearing evaluation you will find that it is a complete, professional examination to determine the type of hearing loss you have, the extent of your hearing loss and the correct treatment you need so that you will have improved communication skills.

OTOSCOPY: A visual examination of the ear canal and eardrum to determine if there is an accumulation of wax, an infection in the ear canal or other visible conditions in the ear that may require medical intervention.

IMMITANCE: Measurement of the middle ear and the Eustachian tube function to rule out possible conditions which may be treatable.

PURE TONE TESTING: Evaluation of your perception of tones of various pitches. Losses in the higher frequencies interfere with our capacity to comprehend speech.
